📌Overview

When I was first approached about the School Pro project, I was told one thing:

"We need something flexible, intuitive, and actually enjoyable to use."

Corporate e-learning platforms are notoriously clunky, often forcing users to wade through dense material with little interaction or personalization. My mission, as the sole designer, was to change that—to build something clean, human-centered, and adaptive.

🔍 Research & Insights

I began where every good design does: by listening.

I actively participated in interviews with corporate trainers, HR managers, and employees from mid-sized companies. Their frustrations were clear:

  • “It takes forever to find what I need.”

  • “It doesn’t work well on my phone.”

  • “It’s just... boring.”

I took these voices to heart. From this, three key principles emerged to guide my design:

  1. Simplify the navigation.

  2. Make it mobile-first.

  3. Engage users without overwhelming them.

I also conducted a competitive analysis of other platforms to understand what worked—and more importantly, what didn’t.

Journey

🧩 Information Architecture

Armed with insights, I mapped out user flows for three primary personas:

  • The Learner (employee)

  • The Instructor

  • The Administrator

I designed a sitemap that kept the learning experience front and center while ensuring course creation and management tools were just a click away for admins and instructors.

Designing the Experience

Wireframing the Core

My first step in the UI was low-fidelity wireframes—clean, quick sketches that focused on hierarchy and flow, not color or polish. These helped clarify priorities:

  • Easy course discovery

  • Progress tracking

  • Seamless transitions between devices

Once the skeleton was in place, I built high-fidelity prototypes in Figma and InVision to test interactions.

🧪 Test & Iterate:

With a clickable prototype in hand, I conducted remote usability tests with actual employees and HR personnel. Their feedback was incredibly valuable:

“I can actually see myself using this on the train.”
“It’s refreshing not to be confused.”

I used their insights to refine the layout, simplify micro-interactions, and improve onboarding flows.

🚀 The Result: An Adaptive, User-First Learning Platform

School Pro now supports:

  • Custom course modules built by admins

  • Interactive lessons that adapt to user pace

  • Progress tracking that keeps learners motivated

  • Cross-device learning for flexibility on the go

What started as a vague request for “something better” became a fully responsive, intuitive platform that’s already transforming corporate learning environments.
